Oppose Orange County Tax Assessor Claude Parrish’s Tax on Middle Income Housing
I strongly oppose Orange County Tax Assessor Claude Parrish’s proposed tax on middle income housing projects, otherwise known as essential housing.
Rent and housing costs are already through the roof in California, and especially Orange County. We should be making it easier for Orange County workers and families to make ends meet, instead of adding to the challenges they face.
A “Renter’s Tax” would exacerbate the housing crisis, and furthermore, directly undermines efforts by local elected officials to increase middle income housing and lower the cost of rent through JPA-owned public housing projects.
I urge you to oppose Tax Assessor Parrish’s proposed tax on essential housing.
